Big Ideas (Don’t Get Any)….but James Houston did! June 20, 2008

Those of you who have taken a moment to read our “About” page will know that we over here at Silent Revolution are SUPER DUPER HUGE Radiohead fans…..and as such…..we check their web site regularly just to kind of check in and find whatever inspiration there may be. Well today, we found probably one of the most inspiring and innovative videos we’ve ever seen.

Graduating art student James Houston explains his video for Radiohead’s “Nude” this way:
“Based on the lyric (and alternate title) “Big Ideas: Don’t get any” I grouped together a collection of old redundant hardware, and placed them in a situation where they’re trying their best to do something that they’re not exactly designed to do, and not quite getting there.”

Ummmm…..can you say super genius!!! No joke. Watch the video! We’ve already watched the video six times and it gets better with each viewing. Wish we could buy his reinterpreted track on itunes!!

Radiohead Album Release October 3, 2007

We can’t even begin to tell you how long we’ve been waiting for this. We’ve been following Radiohead’s web site religiously for ages with hopes of getting an update. And finally….the gates have opened up!

Digital downloading of the album begins on October 10th! And the best part – which is further proof as to why we admire and love them so much – is that the band is allowing YOU to determine how much you want to pay for the download! You name the price! We’re so used to being price gouged for music that we literally had to read the pop-up dialogue box several times before we realized what it was saying!! They make us happy for so many reasons!

Silent Revolution + Paul Oakenfold = True Happines October 3, 2007

For those of you who have taken the time to read our “About” page – you’ll now that music is one of the biggest influences on what we do – in particular electronic music.

We had the super huge honor of recently hanging out with the one and only PAUL OAKENFOLD at his home studio high up in the Hollywood Hills. He is one of the early pioneers of the current DJ culture – and his tracks are on regular rotation in our studio. So, suffice to say – it was a great day and one that we won’t soon forget.

Not only he is uber talented – but he’s also a really nice, grounded guy. So of course, we hooked him up with one of our most popular bags – the HYBRID Record/Laptop Bag. He loved and it and promised to carry it everywhere! So we’re now spreading the Revolution “Oakenfold Style”.
